But Protein is all over the scuttlebutt. More links than any man should be expected to sift.

IDNC: "It's something that the Kerry campaign will be forced to address regarding a previous criticism of Bush's foreign policy. That's all." Then, in comments, Bill refuses repeatedly to to give up specifics.

Inthebullpin thinks it has to do with the details of those records Kerry hasn't been willing to release. Probable.

Others saying it may have to do with the fact that Kerry talked up Kyoto during the debate, but voted against it in the Senate.

If that's the story, it's not a bombshell by half.

John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate, is being given money by an Albanian terrorist organization known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA or UCK in Albanian).

The KLA is currently smuggling weapons into Kosovo as part of a plot to attack American and other UN peacekeepers, should the UN Security Counsel refuse their demand for Kosovo's secession from Serbia and Montenegro.

In order to fully understand the significance of John Kerry's involvement with the KLA it is first necessary to understand what sort of an organization the KLA is. The KLA is a terrorist organization with ties to Osama bin Laden and the Iranian government. The KLA's main objective is to break Kosovo, which has been an integral part of Serbia for centuries, away from Serbia.

That's cut from Slobodan-milosevic.org, so we continue to speculate, but it is at least the most viable blog-scuttle I've seen.

I suspect even worse, though. I suspect this is a nonstory precisely timed to be as disruptful as possible to the Kerry campaign, and it has been "leaked" (read:broadcast) to the angry legions of Bush bloggers so they can foment as much hysteria as possible. I don't know who is worse. The cynics who are playing these morons, or the morons who allow themselves to be played.

Is there a Teutonic word for pretended shameful joy?

ALSO: It isn't up on Druge yet, or even Wiz, for that matter. Is there actual information at the middle of all this kerfuffle?

UPDATE: Redstate (who I wasn't able to get through to for some weird Mozilla reason earlier), and who is supposed to have actually seen the thing, says, "Call it another chapter in the story of John Kerry making stuff up." But Redstate's being pretty damn coy as well.
